Teaching Assistant EYFS

A lovely primary school in Scorton, Preston are looking to appoint a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join their infant class. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:45am to 3:15pm.
The school is looking for someone who can provide general classroom support within the infant class and work closely alongside the class teacher. The role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, or an ECT who is looking to gain further experience within a school setting while working as a TA.
The class teacher is a Leading Foundation Stage Teacher, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience within an infant and early years setting. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced teaching team and will have the opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience.

Primary Teaching Assistant role requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
  • Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting
  • Understanding of the primary curriculum and adapting as required for pupils’ learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, proactive and supportive approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply

The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will:

• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Encourage pupil engagement and participation
  • Support behaviour management using positive strategies
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
  • Provide general classroom and learning support to pupils
  • Support pupils with their day-to-day learning and development
