Year 5 & 6 Teaching Assistant

The Head of a Primary School in Nelson are looking for a Year 5 & 6 Teaching Assistant to join them. This role is Monday – Friday 8:30-3:30 supporting with the teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support with the teaching and learning in a year 5 & 6 class 
• Monitor and report on pupil progress
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment

• Promote and support positive behaviour strategies across the classroom

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with Primary aged children, preferably KS2.
• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Experience covering classes
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to get one)
