History Teacher – 12-Month Contract

Keystage Teacher Supply are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Blackburn.

This is a full-time, long-term position on a 12-month contract, working 4 days per week. The successful History Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging History lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
The school has a strong behaviour policy and a supportive senior leadership team, providing a positive environment for a History Teacher looking for a consistent long-term role.

History Teacher Role Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching History at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons
• A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through The Education Specialists

The Successful History Teacher Will

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Develop pupils’ knowledge, understanding and interest in History
• Prepare pupils effectively for examinations where required
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Assess and monitor pupil progress
• Provide appropriate feedback to pupils and colleagues
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Contribute positively to the wider school community
