The following is designed to give you information relating to your assignments through Key Stage.

Availability
Please ensure that you let us know when you are available for work. Keep in regular contact with the office so that we can discuss where your next assignment will be.
If you are unavailable to work in your assignment due to unforeseen circumstance i.e. illness, please let the Key Stage Staff know before 7.30am so that we can advise the school and replace you if required.

Dress code and standards
First impressions always count so dress professionally. Remember no jeans, leggings or shorts. Male teachers wear a shirt and tie.
It is imperative that all mobile phones are turned off whilst in the classroom.

Arrival time
You are expected to arrive at the school at 8.30 am unless otherwise advised.

Identity card
Please produce your ID card provided by Key Stage Teacher Supply. This is for security purposes and should be with you at all times.
Please take your current CRB and proof of Identification (ie. driving license, passport) to be shown to the school on your arrival.

Planning and Preparation
Be aware that you may enter a classroom that has no lesson plan for that day. It is expected that you will have your own resources in preparation for your assignment and that are in accordance with the National Curriculum.
Do not forget to take your PE shoes.
Please take advantage of Key Stage Teacher Supply’s Library and resource sheet to provide you with up to date information, ideas, lesson plans from Primary – Secondary.

At the end of the day you must leave notes on work which has been covered, plus details of any disciplinary matters/behavioral issues that you have encountered. (Click here to download a Handover sheet) Also ensure that each pupil leaves the classroom safely with his or her belongings. This is important in the case of younger children who must not be left unattended. Leave the classroom in a tidy condition. Do not forget to mark all the work that has been set.

Extra Curriculum duties
Generally if you are in assignment longer that 1 month, Key Stage Teachers must be prepared to assist in other professional activities, including attending staff meetings, parents evenings, marking exams and writing reports.

Timesheets
You will be issued with a timesheet each week. (Click here to download a Timesheet) It is your responsibility to complete the days that you have worked each day. This must then be signed by the School and returned to the Key Stage office no later than 10am on the following Monday. Failure to submit a timesheet for days worked may delay payment .You may fax the timesheet to 01254 507211

Payment
Your salary will be credited weekly in to your Bank or Building Society of your choice via BACS .We encourage that your wages be paid by this method, however if there is a problem then please discuss this with the Key Stage member of staff.

Tax and National Insurance
Income tax, known as PAYE is payable by every working person in the U.K.. It is the responsibility of Key Stage Teacher Supply to deduct tax and National Insurance from your pay each week. Therefore please provide us with a P45. If you are unable to provide this then you must complete a P46 which we can issue you.

Health and Safety
You are responsible for the health and safety of the pupils, yourself, the schools premises and equipment. Do not carry out any duties you are not capable or trained in. Always ensure that you receive instructions when using unfamiliar equipment. If you are unsure about anything please speak to a member of Key Stage Teacher Supply who can offer you advice.
