Here at Key Stage Teacher Supply, we have a partnership with Edge Hill University, which supports our teaching staff in accessing their CPD. If you are looking to further your career with a move into leadership, then the MA in Education may be the next step.
The MA in Education offered by Edge HIll is setting-led, flexible and personalised to your individual professional needs. Fully focused on the impact of outstanding practice on the outcomes and achievements of learners, it is aimed at teachers, lecturers and educational practitioners who lead and support learning in a wide variety of settings.
This practice-based programme has three phases, each of which provides a structure for professional development. The focus is on the evaluation and successful improvement of current ‘best’ practice, to inform and drive ‘next’ practice. This can also be linked to whole-setting improvement priorities.
The three phases:
Phase 1 – Investigating Practice – PG Certificate in Education
Phase 2 – Developing Practice – PG Diploma in Education
Phase 3 – Embedding Improved Practice – MA Education
Assessments are completed through evaluation of your portfolio, in which you will evidence how you deal with complex issues through critical reflection and evaluation informed by current thinking. If you have any previous Masters/Level 7 credits, then you can apply for Accreditation of Prior Learning AP(E)L. In addition, if you have completed any nationally recognised courses, such as NPQH, Leading from the Middle, Leadership Pathways or National PSHE Programme then you can apply to have these accredited by completing an AP(E)L form and providing evidence of completion.
The Education Professional Development application form can be downloaded from the Edge Hill website www.edgehill.ac.uk. If you have any queries about the programme or about tuition fees, then please contact the Professional Development Education Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
